Iranian ‘Spotted Yellow’ to screen at Chicago filmfest

The Chicago International Film Festival in the US is to host Iranian movie ‘Spotted Yellow’.

The Chicago International Film Festival in the US is slated to host Iranian movie ‘Spotted Yellow’.

Baran Sarmad’s film will be screened at the short film section of the 56th edition of the festival.

Written by Mohammad-Reza Miqani, ‘Spotted Yellow’ is about Roya, a young girl who has a yellow spot on her face.

“Once she feels the signs of a real giraffe in her life; and her life begins to change slowly,” a synopsis for the film reads.

‘Spotted Yellow’, which has grabbed an award at the Tehran International Film Festival in Iran, stars Shadi Karam.

Another Iranian film ‘Careless Crime’ will also represent Iran at the main competition section of the Chicago fest.

The Chicago festival showcases films from around the world. The event is an effort to promote a deeper understanding of diverse cultures. 

The festival is scheduled to kick off on October 14-25, 2020.
